WATCHING OUR CHANNEL |
|
| The purpose of UK FUTURE TV is to examine in depth the work of academics, researchers, entrepreneurs and innovators across the fields of health, education, environment, society, science, technology and enterprise. | |
| We try to feature a wide range of participants and therefore include interviews with new start entrepreneurs, PhD students and young professionals as well as established leaders within their fields. What we seek is expertise in their subject and an enthusiasm to communicate that to a wider audience. | |
| We aim to produce programmes that are of interest to a general audience whilst providing a useful resource for those making career, career change or study choices. | |
| Unlike mainstream broadcasters who have to edit their programmes to fit into a tight schedule as an internet based TV channel we can run the full content of all our interviews. We hope that this extra background and depth improves understanding of the often complex subjects that we cover. | |
| We do not seek to pursue any particular political, technological or commercial agenda. We are not connected with UKTV, Virgin Media or BBC Worldwide. | |
| All our videos are windows media (.wmv) files streaming at 700 kbps. They should run without problems over any recent home broadband connection. Many office connections are fast enough but video use can be restricted by IT departments. | |
| If the video keeps stopping and buffering then your connection is too slow. You can however right click any video and “save target as” to download the video to your computer regardless of the connection speed you have available. | |
| Our programme listings are designed as long narrow pages so that you can view your web page on one side of your screen whilst watching programmes on the windows media player on the other. That way you can watch programmes whlist surfing through our entire programme catalogue at the same time. | |
